Church for Russian Orthodox community consecrated in Lebanon

On 10th March, while in Lebanon, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, DECR chairman, took part in the celebrations marking the lesser consecration of the Holy Annunciation Church in Jal El Dib, provided by Metropolitan Silouan of Byblos, Botris and Dependencies (Mount Lebanon) for the use of the Russian-speaking Orthodox Christians in Lebanon.

Metropolitan Anthony on a pilgrimage to Serbian monasteries on Fruška Gora

Metropolitan Anthony participates in events in India to mark the 1950th anniversary of the martyr’s death of the holy apostle Thomas

On 25th February memorial events were held in the city of Kottayam in Kerala state in India to mark the occasion of the 1950th anniversary of the martyr’s death of the holy apostle Thomas. His memory is especially venerated by Christians on the Malabar Coast of India as Saint Thomas came here in 52 AD and founded the first church community in the locality.

Meeting takes place between chairman of the DECR and representatives of the Church of India responsible for relations with the Russian Orthodox Church

On 24th February in Kottayam in India a meeting was held between the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Anthony and members of the working group for the coordination of bilateral relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Malankara Church.
